We were all very excited for the live broadcast of BBC Berkshire's Breakfast show live from our factories in Reading. Maggie Philbin (from the radio show), was treated to an exclusive tour from our Managing director Michael Ayerst and didn't leave us empty handed as we demonstrated the superb quality of a couple of our machines live on air.
We'll be heading back to the In-Store Show at Olympia this year on the 27th and 28th June. For an opportunity to see what exciting new developments and investment there has been into our print technology this year, make sure you don't miss us.
We're excited to see the reaction to our new illuminated fabric systems as well as our fantastic Just Stick it Up and Magnetic graphic films. For more information you can contact [email protected]
You may have seen us at the In Store Show 29th – 30th June, Olympia. It was an opportunity to introduce our new identity and to showcase the benefits of fabric for retail and promotional activity.
We were pleased to see that there was a good deal of interest, particularly with the quality of the fabric prints from our new Durst Rhotex 320. We could also demonstrate first hand the flexibility, simplicity and style of our change frame system for interchangeable retail displays - something we are championing at the moment.
VGL celebrate the purchase of a new 2,230sqm factory. The unit is just five minutes from our existing two facilities taking production space to over 6,000sqm. The factory will house both of our new Inca Onsets with collation department.
We’ve also equipped Smallmead with the latest digital equipment for the production and finishing of printed fabrics – the revolutionary Durst Rhotex 320 and the Dupont Artistri.
It also played host, for a few mad days, to our impressive showcase installations, demonstrating the range of technologies and services we offer – all within arms reach.
VGL have a number of charities dear to its heart. Every year we try and support a few good causes and take pride in the the fact that our employees embrace them as well.
Mohawk is a multi-functional day centre for children with special needs, set in 5 acres of beautiful countryside, just outside Wargrave, in Berkshire. Throughout the year the centre provides a range of activities, facilities and natural space to encourage children with a variety of special needs to play, socialise and learn in a secure and caring environment. VGL contribute towards Camp Mohawk every year and sponsor their Father Christmas day when Father Christmas visits the Camp and provides presents for everyone.
In 2014 VGL chose to enter a team into the Reading Half Marathon to raise money for Bliss. The team of Paul Brooks, Matt Kirby, Michael Ayerst, Russell Fry, Andy Norris and Tom Pickford completed the Half marathon and raised over £1000 for Bliss. Bliss is the UK Charity working to provide the best possible care and support for all premature and sick babies and their families.
Whenever possible, we like to support our customers and suppliers – whether it is a sponsored run or walk, or the occasional bath in cold baked beans. Other charities we have supported include Macmillan Nurses, Children in Need and Plan International. One of our proudest achievements and closest to our hearts was the support we gave to Plan International to help build the Tawaranda Primary School in Togo. Our fundraising helped build three new classrooms and supplied books and separate toilet facilities to help ensure girls could take full advantage of the new school.
