Head up to the grounds and you will see some vibrant graphics strategically positioned near Wimbledon train station, for all to see when they arrive in the area.
The project involved a collaboration between VGL (producing the graphics), Hallmark Outdoors, Barclays, M&C Saatchi and the specialised installation team from Industrial Abseil to display printed branding on the Overhead building for the launch of the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
Tasked with enhancing event exposure, Contra Vision® and brickwork film graphics were applied across multiple building surfaces near the tournament. Coordinating different materials across glass and brick surfaces, whilst ensuring precise alignment of the graphics, was a real challenge – not to mention the additional complexity of doing so from height on abseil.
Hallmark Outdoors, a London-based advertising company, was given the assignment of creating, developing and managing the OOH display for Barclays, the official banking partner of Wimbledon. VGL was responsible for meticulously printing, planning, packing, and labelling the materials, which minimised on-site installation time and errors. The application, undertaken by Industrial Abseil, was executed with high precision, ensuring alignment across different textures and elevations, despite the complexities of working at heights.
What a success! Seeing our graphics positioned prominently by the Wimbledon event was brilliant. As a marketing campaign, it has delivered significant exposure for Barclays amongst attendees and local commuters.
